ACHERON: German Festival Appearance Cancelled By Promoters

June 27, 2004

The organizers of Germany's Under The Black Sun Festival have removed ACHERON from this year's lineup, citing a "lack of funds" for their decision. Kyle Severn, drummer for the Columbus, Ohio-based black/death metal cult band, made the following statement about the situation:

"Well, it is unfortunate that we have to announce that ACHERON has been cancelled from the Under The Black Sun Festival in Germany. This was in NO WAY our decision. It's a shame that it came to this, but the organizers for this event ended up being scumbag, fucking pussies, who decided to rip us off and all our fans off that were looking forward to seeing us play.

"The organizers asked us to play this year and we agreed. We ask for them to take care of our airfare. They agreed. Then all of a sudden they tell us that their expenses for the fest were more than expected and that they could not afford to bring us there. We asked them since they've been promoting our name and we've been promoting their fest to try to make something happen, and they've just decided to take the cowardly way out and they do not respond to any of our messages. For this they are pussies!!! ACHERON turned down several other festivals and shows in Europe, just to do the Under The Black Sun as an exclusive event. And they fucked us over. Anyone playing this fest be aware and get paid first!!! We (ACHERON) apologize to our fans and friends that have been let down from these bullshit unprofessional actions from the organizers. It's not fair to you for them to lead everyone into thinking we were playing. Fuck those jerk-offs!!!"

Despite this latest setback, ACHERON are still planning on doing a few shows this summer to support their album, "Rebirth: Metamorphosing into Godhood", and their new double History CD, "Decade Infernus 1988-1998". For more information, visit www.Acheron666.com.
